How to use the tutorial
This document describes how to use the tutorial and what hardware/software is required.
Intended audience
We assume that the reader has a working knowledge of finite domain constraint programming. The concepts of domain variables, global constraints and search routines are briefly explained in a background section.
How to use the material
The tutorial can be used either as a linear presentation or a in-depth study of different problems and techniques.
Linear Presentation
For a linear presentation, follow the NEXT buttons through the pages. You can always return to the previous page in the presentation with the PREVIOUS button. The TOP pointer links you to the table of contents, the START button is linked to the start of the slide presentation. On some pages, links to additional pages with detailed descriptions of sub-problems are available with a SHOWME button. You can return from these pages with the BACK button.
In-depth study
You can study each of the problems or each of the improvement techniques by following the link structure of these sections. In the navigation area a specialized table of contents is given.
Hardware/Software requirement
- The material is written for Netscape/Microsft browsers versions 4.0 and later.
- The best display will be achieved with a display of atleast 1024x768 pixels in 65000 color resolution.
