Georg Ringwelski

My main research interest is the design of constraint processing systems. The objective of this work is to integrate new CP technologies in software components that make state-of-the-art algorithms more applicable in complex software systems. Some main points of interest are adaptive constraint processing, distributed constraint satisfaction, anytime algorithms for constraint processing and hybrid algorithms.

Before coming to 4C, I was:

  • Scientist at Fraunhofer Institute FIRST. As memeber of the research group for Planning Techniques and Declarative Programming I was involved in the development of industrial Constraint-based Software (2002-2003).
  • Guest Lecturer at the Berufsakademie Berlin for Software Engineering and Theoretical Computer Science (2000-2002).
  • Member of the Doctoral Programme of the former GMD (now Fraunhofer) and worked on my PhD theis "Asynchronous Constraint Solving" (2000-2002).
  • Student Employee for teaching and research assistance at the Technical University Berlin in the institute "Methods of Artificial Intelligence" (1998-2000).
