Eugene Freuder

- B.A., magna cum laude, in mathematics, Harvard. Ph.D. in computer science, M.I.T, under Patrick Winston.
- Professor in the Computer Science Department at the University of New Hampshire in the U.S. In 2001, moved to University College Cork to take up a post as Science Foundation Ireland Research Professor and Director of the Cork Constraint Computation Centre.
- Elected a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
- Elected a Member of the Royal Irish Academy.
- Elected a Fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence for fundamental and sustained contributions to the field of constraint-based reasoning.
- Elected a European Coordinating Committee for Artificial Intelligence Fellow
- Founding Editor-in-Chief of the Constraints journal.
- Served as Executive Chair of the Organizing Committee of the series of International Conferences on Principles and Practice of Constraint Programming.
- Received the first Research Excellence Award of the Association for Constraint Programming.
- Received the 1999 University of New Hampshire Award for Excellence in Research.
- One of his papers is ranked among the top 750 most cited articles in the CiteSeerX database.
- Google Scholar lists 11 of his papers with over 100 citations.
- Played a key role in obtaining approximately 50M euro in funding from government and industry to support scientific research.
