Dr. Jacob Feldman has over 25 years experience in development of real-world decision support applications for major international corporations and government agencies using optimization and business rules technologies. He is the founder and CTO of OpenRules, Inc., a US corporation that created a highly popular open source Business Rules Management System. He also was a founder of IntelEngine, Inc, a creator of the first constraint satisfaction environment for Java known as Constrainer. Other products created under Jacob's supervision include: workforce/workload scheduling engine for utility and service industry, truck loading and routing engines, strategic workforce planner and machine learning system for the IRS.

At 4C Jacob was leading a development of the CP-Inside project aimed to make CP technology more accessible for real-world business applications. In 2009 he received a Google Research Award for the "Advanced Meeting Scheduler for Google Calendar" (watch the trailer). Now he is the principal investigator for the Entreprise Ireland CDDC project "Applying Integrated Rules and Constraint Technology to Diagnose and Resolve Capacity Deficiency Problems for Large Data Centres".

Dr. Feldman is actively involved in the CP standardization process (see www.cpstandards.org) and currently he is a Specification Lead for the JSR 331 "Java Constraint Programming API".

Current research interests: an integrated use of Machine Learning, BR, CP, and CEP techniques; knowledge representation and propagation.
