The Cork Constraint Computation Centre (4C), organises sessions for young people, to give them a chance to interact with research scientist and to learn about our branch of science. We aim that by the end of our sessions, every child should know that computing can be thought of as a science, and that computers can be used to solve problems. However, the emphasis of these sessions is learning through fun with a stronger emphasis given to fun than to learning!

We use a number of tools for these sessions including the games on this website, a presentation and two worksheets. These resources can be downloaded from the menu on the left.

So far we have run 4 such sessions, with up to 50 children visiting us at University College Cork (UCC) for each one. Two of these sessions were organised as part of UCC's Science Faculty Summer Camp, and two as part of Science Week. Photos of the later sessions can be seen below.

If you are in charge of a group of young people of size 10-50, be it in a school or through an out of school activities, and you would be interested in bringing your group to one of our sessions than please contact radsz@4c.ucc.ie for further details.
