Jaune, Rouge, Bleu - Wassily Kandinski (1925)

Kandinski, painter and accomplished musician, is widely considered to be one of the earliest pioneers of modernism in art. He taught courses in analytical drawing and colour at the world famous Bauhaus Design School in 1922. The Bauhaus' founder, Walter Gropius, called for greater cooperation between the industrialist and engineer on one hand and the artist or designer on the other.

CTVR draws inspiration from this Bauhaus philosophy by applying the multidisciplinary skills of its research team to a range of important problems that are relevant to industry. The centre's logo represents the inter-communicating research strands within CTVR and is based on a figurative leitmotif that appears in a number of Kandinski¹s works.
